SPECTACULAR.....A ROMANTIC ADVENTURE FILLED WITH INTRIGUE

Outstanding!!! A MUST READ!! I ordered this book and couldn't put it down!! Has some surprising twists. Ms Richman explores themes such as
dignity...self respect..love....greed...corporate advantage..sex in the work place and whether winning should be at any cost. SLAVE TO LOVE offers a moral lesson suggesting that a person doesn't have to compromise core values in business and life to be successful.

Get ready to fall in love. This is a book NOT to be missed!

Slave to Love is one helluva book. Julie Richman has once again proven she can not only write a beautiful love story but make it both sexy and intriguing at the same time. With Hale and Sierra, the sparks fly, the chemistry soars and in the middle of it all is the uncertainty as to whether or not they should mix business with pleasure. Oh but when all common sense goes by the wayside, we are treated to front row seats to the burgeoning romance that will steal your heart.

Told in alternating POV's, we are lucky enough to know just how rattled both Hale and Sierra are by the attraction each feels for the other. Their careers are everything, however, and it takes much thought and a whole lot of redirection to even think of making this work.

I loved both of these characters from the start. At first I thought Hale would be a distasteful man-whore but I should have known better. The author would only give us men worthy of our adoration. Right along with Sierra, I fell for Hale hook, line and sinker. His dedication to not only his work but also to the woman of his dreams made me swoon.

And Sierra. She can go toe to toe with the best of them and I loved her fire and sense of style. The author gives us strong heroines, ones who you want to emulate and at the same time enjoy a night out with. Strong but sensual, tough but tender. With Hale, there is gorgeous passion and they are matched perfectly.

Their journey was not an easy one and I was completely captivated from the start. I got lost in the author's words and I just didn't want to let go. Slave to Love has all the feels you desire along with characters that grab your attention because they are smart, witty, sexy and downright addicting.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Another simply superb look at love that only Julie Richman can deliver.

For the hearty and Hale...

I had the pleasure of reading this book for an honest review and here are my thoughts. I've read Julie A Richman's books for a few years now because she really does know how to tell a story and grab at the hearstrings. We get to know the characters from the inside out and get right down to the emotional side and bare bones of each character. You really start to care for them and look forward to hearing even a tiny snippet of them in future books. This happened to me with the Moore series (haven't read it? What are you waiting for!) so I went into this book hoping that was the case.

The problem was, I totally forgot about them because Slave to Love is a stand alone and I got truly immersed in the characters of Hale and Sierra. I really liked Sierra. She's a ballsy girl in a man's corporate world and she's trying to survive it and just be herself. She's confident, driven, and intelligent. She meets Hale in NY with other collegues to discuss business. To be honest, while I was reading, I didnt pay close attention to what they were discussing at first because their chemistry was insane! And let's discuss Hale! What can I say, he's sweet, kind, but driven and very intelligent. He's a girls fantasy come to life. Sounds like a match made in heaven. Not so fast! Our hero and heroine go thru troubles, too. I was very happy that this story was sweet, sexy (the sex scenes were fantastic!) and had a very satisfying ending. While the Needing Moore series had my emotions all over the place, Slave to Love was romantic with a great ending, too! I breathed a happy sigh. So I happily recommend this book to those who want a truly romantic and sexy story.

I normally do not talk about what happens in books because that spoils the experience for me. So I won't do that for the reader who is thinking about getting this book. It's a truly great experience. Try it out!

Oh, and I did realize we get a scene from a fan favorite. That made me smile.

About the Author
Gretta Curran Browne was born in Dublin city where she spent some of her childhood years in the notorious Goldenbridge orphanage. Later she was transferred to a second orphanage in Preston in England, which was less harsh, and where, due to one special nun, she became acquainted with the magic of storytelling. In her teenage years she moved to London to study Drama, working as a telephonist at night to pay her rent and attending Drama school in the day: after which she spent some years working full time in theatre and occasionally in television. Her first attempts at professional writing began after her two children were born, and she became a full-time mother, writing at night when the world and her children were asleep. She began with two short stories, both of which won prizes. She then began her first novel, `Tread Softly On My Dream’s, based on the true story of the young Irish hero, Robert Emmet. Published by Headline and critically acclaimed by the Press, Tread Softly On My Dreams was acquired by the University of Notre Dame in the US, and The Princess Grace Irish Library in the palace of Monaco. This was followed by her second Irish novel, Fire On The Hill and later followed by her first contemporary novel, Ghosts In Sunlight. Gretta’s writing career was interrupted in full flow when her son broke his back in an accident and needed her care for some years. Now fully recovered, her son is a successful young actor and Gretta has returned to her passion for writing. She has just completed her new Historical novel, By Eastern Windows, based again on a true story, set primarily in Scotland and India, and has already started work on the sequel The Far Horizon, set primarily in early Australia. Gretta is married to a lawyer and lives in London.

Good historical fiction. Too many characters though. Extremely poor editing of the e-book; many, many errors made reading book difficult.

Why so few reviews?

I honestly don't understand why this book doesn't have a thousand positive reviews. I love historical fiction. However I realize it's not a popular genre, so I assume that explains the lack of reviews. There are a lot of characters to keep up with. It's not a fluff read, but certainly not a difficult read. I absolutely loved it. If you are at all interested in the history if Ireland I strongly recommend this book. There is a lot of information about the political & judicial system of the time, but it is not a dry book. You will also find a love story & fully developed characters that will make you not want to put the book down. I wish it had ended differently, but since the book is based on fact sadly that couldn't be....sigh

Erin go bragh, Ireland forever! That's one of the overwhelming feelings I have experienced as I read and reread this Gretta Curran Browne novel. I also feel that I'm tapping into actual history. As this is written as a fiction, it is actually based on real characters and real events. This is what I like to call "creative nonfiction" and it is enjoyable to read Browne's interpretation and her imaginatively insightful development of characters.

I was first intrigued by the title, and then the words from which it originated, a Yeats quote, ""I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softly..."
The title and the quote are haunting as they pierce the soul.

When I began reading this novel, a family and a group of identifiable people emerged as if they were real, quite methodically developed, and I began to care for them and their relationships. That feeling continued throughout this well crafted novel. Highly recommended.

Wright (Natural Hormone Replacement for Women Over 40, Smart Pub., 1997) proposes that many symptoms of aging can be significantly lessened by appropriate replacement of testosterone. Like other recent writers (Jed Diamond, Male Menopause, LJ 7/98; Charles Inlander, Men's Health and Wellness Encyclopedia, LJ 5/1/98), Wright favors the term "male menopause" for the climacteric. Like Eugene Shippen (The Testosterone Syndrome, LJ 4/1/98), Wright reviews the clinical research of the last 60 years and concludes that critical sex hormone imbalances occur in both sexes in midlife and that natural testosterone therapy is beneficial in treating a number of symptoms and diseases long thought part of the normal aging process: heart disease, prostate disease, muscle and bone weakness, depression, high cholesterol, weight gain, and diminished mental acuity, as well as sexual libido and performance. Interesting but without specifics

I found this to be an interesting book on a subject all too frequently overlooked or bypassed as unimportant. The book gives anexcellent overview of concepts, but falls short in recommending any sort of program to improve testosterone levels. Excercise, programs to minimize the effect of SBH, blocking testerone to estrogene conversion etc were touched on but no specifics given.

This book helps bridge the gap of ignorance about testosterone and its benifits. Especially natrual testosterone. The notes about the side effects of man made and the benifits of natural are extremely interesting. More men are having simptoms of low testosterone in the early thirties and this book is a must read for them. Most family doctors do not understand the importance of the difference between bound and free testosterone. This is a good book to have your doctor review. If they won't, change doctors.

Don Barnhart Jr is not only a terrific comedian & entertainer, he understands the "business" that is show business. Being funny or creative is not enough to make it -- You need to know the real tools of the trade. Don has spent decades on the road honing his craft. His insight & interviews with the top working comics in the business, provides a useful and necessary road-map for anyone thinking of a career in comedy. Ope-mic night is not enough, do your homework and read this book.
